Is it a winter boot or a sneaker? At MilkyWalk, we call it a winter sneaker. It has a fleece lining rather than a thick wool lining, which means it is not one of the warmest winter boots. For some children, it will work perfectly as a transitional boot, while for others it will be sufficient throughout the winter – especially in milder climates.

Size guide and internal measurements

At MilkyWalk, we measure all shoes and models ourselves each season using an internal measuring device. Our measurements show the actual internal space of the shoe – not the length of the insole. The insole can sometimes be slightly shorter or longer than the internal space. Since we measure all shoes ourselves, our measurements may differ from the manufacturer's information.

Please note that we show Wheat's own size guide with length and width measurements in the last picture. Our measurements may differ, as we measure the finished shoe, while manufacturers often measure the last the shoe is built on.

We think Wheat has created a really beautiful and modern winter sneaker with the Muni. It fits well into the need for a lighter winter boot, which doesn’t always have to be heavy and extra warm. The model works very well as something in between a shoe and a winter boot – ideal to start the season with, and for many children it can be sufficient throughout the entire winter.

We always recommend having at least two pairs of winter footwear, so you can switch if one pair gets wet from snow, rain, or condensation. It is important that shoes are allowed to dry thoroughly.

We assess the fit as medium to wide, and we see Muni as a great choice if you are looking for a transitional boot/light winter sneaker for your child. At MilkyWalk, we recommend a growth allowance in winter shoes like these of approx. 1.3–1.8 cm. Choosing 1.8 cm gives extra room for thicker wool socks and extended wear, especially if the boots are bought early in the season.
