Lane sneaker in navy from Bundgaard. The model is made of soft suede and specially designed for children with wide feet. It features a classic look with double velcro straps, making it easy to put on and take off while ensuring an adjustable fit.

Lane is a barefoot shoe with an extra-wide toe box, flat sole without heel drop, and a firm heel cap for support and stability. It is lined with vegetable-tanned leather and has a flexible rubber sole that supports natural foot movement. Barefoot shoes are designed with thin and flexible soles, a wide toe box, and no heel drop. They allow natural foot movement and mimic the feeling of walking barefoot.

The shoe also accommodates a relatively high instep but is primarily developed with a wide fit in mind.

The shoes fit normal to large. At MilkyWalk, we measure all shoes and models each season with an internal measuring device. Our measurements show the actual space inside the shoe and not the insole, which in some cases may be either larger or smaller than our measurements.

MilkyWalk’s review and recommendation of the Lane model

Lane from Bundgaard is a brand-new model we at MilkyWalk helped request after Arauto RAP went bankrupt. Arauto RAP was known for some of the widest shoes on the market, and when they closed, a clear gap appeared. With Lane, Bundgaard has succeeded in creating a truly good and wide shoe that in many ways can compare to the popular RAP models.

We find Lane slightly lower over the instep compared to RAP’s well-known 5909 shoes with white soles, but the fit is still wide and roomy. A big plus is that Lane is noticeably lighter than RAP, which could sometimes feel heavy for children. We can therefore highly recommend Lane if your child needs a wide shoe and you’ve been missing a broad alternative to RAP’s 5909 model.
