The Carter Lamb model is a barefoot-inspired shoe focusing on comfort, flexibility and natural movement. It is lined with soft lambskin, which helps keep little feet warm and comfortable during the winter months. The two velcro straps make the shoe easy to adjust and take on and off.

At MilkyWalk we measure all children's shoes every season with an internal measuring device. Our measurements show the actual space inside the shoe – not the length of the insole. The insole may be slightly shorter or longer than the internal space. Since we measure all shoes ourselves, our measurements may differ from the manufacturer's information.

I am really fond of the Carter model from bisgaard. It is designed as a prewalker, but also works perfectly once the child has started walking more steadily. The hallmark of a good first shoe is a soft and flexible sole, and that is exactly what you get here – combined with a rubber sole that covers the toe area, which is very practical when children crawl and wear their shoes extra hard.

The lambskin lining feels truly luxurious and adds a cozy warmth, making the shoe ideal for cold days. The fit is medium to wide and will suit many children’s feet. Remember to allow only 1–1.3 cm of growing room in this type of shoe – more than that can make it difficult for small children to walk safely. And please note that this model tends to run small.

Carter is a first step shoe you can confidently choose when your child is learning to walk. It is functional and flexible, but should be seen as a comfortable winter shoe – not a technical winter boot for heavy rain, snow and puddles, as it does not have a TEX membrane. With leather care products such as leather grease you can help protect the leather so it better resists moisture. All in all, a very comfortable and beautiful first shoe that I highly recommend.
