The Bisgaard Thermo winter rubber boot in blue with shark print is designed for children who need warm and waterproof boots on cold and wet days. The boot is made of natural rubber and has a warm lining of 100% lambswool.

The high shaft provides extra protection against rain and slush, while the drawstring closure at the top ensures a snug fit that helps prevent water from entering from above. The removable insole is built in three layers: thermo, natural latex and wool – a combination that retains warmth, absorbs moisture and provides comfort.

Is it a winter rubber boot or a thermo boot?
It is a lined rubber boot with an insole with thermo function. Therefore, it can be called both a thermo boot and a winter rubber boot, but note that the thermo function is limited to the insole.

The boots should not be used as the child’s primary winter boot, as feet do not breathe optimally in rubber boots. They are best suited as a supplement to a pair of classic leather or nylon winter boots.

If the winter rubber boots become wet from condensation, sweat or water from above, they must be allowed to dry completely before being used again. Do not dry directly on heat sources such as radiators or ovens. It is normal for feet to become damp quickly in boots like these – especially if the weather is close to double-digit plus degrees.

Please note that natural rubber can develop a whitish layer called 'blooming'. This is a natural phenomenon and can be removed by treating the boots with oil.

Size guide and inner measurements for Bisgaard thermo and winter rubber boots

At MilkyWalk, we measure all children’s shoes each season with an internal measuring device. Our measurements show the actual space inside the boot – not the length of the insole. The insole may be slightly shorter or longer than the inner space. For this boot, the insole is typically a little smaller than our measurement.

Since we measure all shoes ourselves, our measurements may differ from the manufacturer’s information. See our measurements further up on the page.

The boots run normal to large in size.

MilkyWalk’s recommendation for when Bisgaard thermo boots make sense to buy

Boots like these are almost indispensable for many children – especially in kindergarten age, when they really prove their worth. For children who spend a lot of time outdoors in winter in all kinds of weather, ordinary rubber boots – even with TEX membranes – may struggle to withstand several consecutive rainy days, as they need time to dry. Therefore, it is practical to have thermo rubber boots to alternate with on the wettest days.

However, a boot like this should never be the child’s primary winter boot. It is comparable to only having rubber boots as the only pair of shoes in summer.

Feet do not breathe optimally in rubber boots, and the boots must be allowed to dry completely if they become damp or wet. It is completely normal for them to feel moist inside without being leaky, as feet release a lot of moisture. We always recommend having at least two pairs of shoes to alternate between during the season.

Think of the boot as a rubber boot for winter use – a supplement rather than a replacement for regular winter boots.
