Size guide and internal measurements
At MilkyWalk, we measure all children’s shoes each season with an internal measuring device. Our measurements show the actual space inside the shoe – not the length of the insole. The insole may be slightly shorter or longer than the internal space. Since we measure all shoes ourselves, our measurements may differ from the manufacturer’s information.
MilkyWalk’s review and recommendation of the Angulus boot in dark brown
Written by Kristine from MilkyWalk
This Angulus boot is a great choice if you want a classic winter boot for your child. It is made of 100% leather with wool lining, a TEX membrane, and a raw rubber sole – a combination of natural materials that has been part of Angulus’ collection for many years and is both well-known and popular.
The boot is only produced up to size 25 in this version and is therefore intended for younger children. The sole is slightly thinner than on the larger models, making it extra flexible and lightweight. Note that raw rubber can feel a bit stiff at first, but it quickly becomes more flexible as it warms up from the foot and is worn in.
Choosing socks in a leather winter boot
In terms of warmth, the boot works well for many children, but needs vary depending on how warm or cold the child tends to be, as well as clothing and activity level. It can be a good idea to experiment with different socks – wool socks provide extra warmth, while we do not recommend 100% cotton socks in winter boots.
Cotton absorbs moisture, dries slowly, and loses its insulating ability when wet, which can quickly lead to cold feet. Wool and wool blends, on the other hand, insulate even when damp, wick moisture away from the skin, and create a more comfortable foot climate.
Extra warmth tips and leather boot care
An extra warmth tip is to add an extra insole in the boot. The more alternating layers there are in a sole, the better it insulates against cold from below. The layers create small air pockets and break thermal bridges, keeping warmth inside while making it harder for the cold to penetrate from underneath.
Like all leather boots, this model requires regular care with leather grease and waterproofing spray to maintain function and appearance. Also note that leather toes can wear down if the child uses the boots for braking on a balance bike or scooter.
We recommend Angulus winter boots if you want classic leather quality with a sense of luxury. However, it can be an advantage to have an additional pair of shoes or boots that can handle a lot of water, since even a TEX membrane cannot fully protect leather against prolonged exposure to heavy rain and large puddles.
If the boots become wet inside, it is important to let them dry thoroughly for one to two days – which is why it is always a good idea to have an extra pair to switch to.
